Project Partners

The Parkgate Teen Sexual Health Project was coordinated by the Parkgate Community Health Centre (Vancouver Coastal Health) and funded by the BC Centre for Disease Control. It has fostered partnerships among the VCH, Parkgate Community Centre, and Seycove Secondary Community School.

Vancouver Coastal Health is committed to supporting healthy lives in healthy communities with our partners through care, education, and research. The role of VCH is to govern, manage, and deliver quality healthcare services to people living in the North Shore/Coast Garibaldi, Vancouver, and Richmond regions, and to all British Columbians requiring highly specialized health services.

Parkgate Community Centre opened in the fall of 1999, and is a place where the community is involved in all aspects of its operation. The spirit of Parkgate is created around a distinct "intergenerational philosophy," which has been mandated by the community from the centre's inception. This commitment of all ages experiencing life together is what continues to make Parkgate a lively and innovative centre. The Centre prides itself on providing an environment that makes people feel welcome and at home.

Seycove Secondary Community School, located in Deep Cove, is a part of the North Vancouver School District. Seycove strives to provide challenging and supportive learning environment, to maintain respect for students, others, and the environment, and to develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to contribute to a diverse society. The school's staff, administration, and student leaders are essential in the success of this project.
